Happy Almost Halloween

Happy Friday!!

It’s the day before Halloween and we, the girls of my department at work and l, decided to do something diferent with our makeup in celebration.  I work at a very conservative company where my stilleto nails are always getting weird looks, or weird comments, so we obiously could not get to crazy. Our decision: Ombre Lips!

I decided to pair my ombre lips with a cat eye and my cat ears for when I was inside the department.  Little cat ears story: I had to go back to my desk a couple of times when I was already at the door to take them of, because I kept forgetting I had them on, but it happend! I forgot! And I was mid way to the administration wing, when an employee was coming to me, looking at me weird, with me asking what was wrong, what I had, till she said, “oh, cat ears, cute” and I took them off immediately and hidthem between the papers I had! I almost had a heart attack! I could not imaging the faces I would have gotten!

We had a fun day, we ate losts of candy and ended the day with the Boss, until today (sad part of the day), in the movies, watching “The Martian”! Great movie!

Boss, we will miss you!!

I hope you all have a Happy Halloween!

The Look: Everyday Fall

Today I am sharing with you a simple everyday look for fall.  In the eyes I decided to use a orange color as a blending shade and mixed a couple of brown/purples in the crease area and the lower lid,  in the upper lid a cream color and a cat eye with brown liner.  To bring more of an orange/gold tone to the face I used a Nars Blush in “Orgasm” and highlighted the high points of my face with Becca’s Champagne Pop.  To finish the look a purple tone lipstick.
What I use:

Face:
Eyes:
Cheeks:
Lips:
Covergirl Lipstick in “360 Euphoria”

PS.

Loving my new hair color, thanks to Nannie from anewchapterinnannieslife.blogspot.com, she is new to the blogging world, go check her out! Thank you Darling, for your awesome work, I am loving it!

S.O.S- Study Over Sleep: Episode 1

This semester so far, my grades have been great.  When I started studying again I was extremely nervous, because it had been 3 years since I graduated from my Bachelors Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resources, and all I could think was, that I wouldn’t be able to have time to study, because I work full time (40 hours a week) and that wasn’t the case the first time around.

When I first was in college my study habits weren’t the greatest (thankfully I always had good grades, but they could have been better). This semester I am taking 3 classes that are requirements for a Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology, I am determined to have good grades and hopefully start my Masters in January.  So, in this post I will be sharing with you one study tip (there will be more in the future), to better grades.

Study Everyday

Something that has been working for me is studying everyday.  I have created the habit of reviewing what was giving in class that night, before I go to sleep, and on Saturdays (that I have more time) I study everything that was giving that week.  Whats great about this technique is that everyday you reinforce what was giving that day and if you have a doubt about the material, you can bring it to the next class.  Also, when you review all your notes once a week, when you study for the exam, you have a feeling of what you already know and what you have to study more, and you can concentrate on that.

I hope you enjoy this tip.

Never stop working for your dreams.

My Favorite Lipsticks: Fall Edition

I love Fall and love lipsticks.  If there is one makeup product I use everyday is lipstick, and today I am sharing with you my favorites for this time of year, or really anytime I feel like wearing them, but in Fall they are my go to.

The first one, “Twig” by MAC. I discovered it thru Pinterest, and is my favorites of favorites.  There was a time when this was the only lipstick that was in purse at all times.  This one is perfect for an everyday color with simple, natural makeup and also with a great smokey eye for night time.

Next, “107” by Kate Moss for Rimmel London.  Let me just confess my love for this lipsticks, I have a couple of colors from this line and I like them all, great job Rimmel!  I like to wear this one when I don’t want to spend to much time or effort with my makeup, but still want to look polished and elegant.

And last, “Smoked Purple” by MAC.  I also saw it in Pinterest, and for last year’s Holiday Party at work I wanted something different and bold, so I went running (literally, it was the same day as the party) to MAC and told the woman who was helping me what I wanted, she recommended this one, it was a winner! I have enjoy wearing this with minimal makeup and tons of mascara, day or night.
There you have it, my favorites lipsticks for the season.

My Study Motivation

I graduated from my Bachelors Degree a couple of years ago, but I am currently taking 3 classes to hopefully start my Masters Degree in January (fingers crossed!).  When I started in August, I had no study habits, so I had to come up with a little motivation.  When I study for exams I tell my self that if I do good I will buy myself something from Sephora, and I told this to my mom and my best friend, that way if I don’t do great they will not let me shop for makeup.  So far, so good!  I have a makeup wishlist ready for when I have the time (and the money) to do my trip to Sephora.

This Becca Highlighter by Jaclyn Hill is in the top of my list.  I am a fan of Jaclyn in Youtube, and I just love the way this highlighter looks.  Can’t wait to get my hands on it!

The Urban Decay shadow palette, Naked Smoky.  I just think it will be perfect for all the smoky eyes I could do during the holidays! Plus, I own the Naked 3 palette and love it, I am sure this one wont disappoint.

I received a sample of the Bobbi Brown Beach Body Scrub at Nordstrom and I fell in love! I know we are not technically in summer anymore, but where I live is always summer and the scent of this scrub just takes your mind to a perfect beach day.

Bring on the exams, I am motivated to do my best!
