Review: Maybelline’s Instant Age Rewind Concealer

Last week I bought the Maybelline’s Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circles Treatment Concealer, and told you guys on Instagram that I was going to share my thoughts on it. So here it is.
The shade I choose was “Light”, I always choose a shade or two lighter that my skin tone to brighten the under eye area, forehead, bridge of the nose and chin, and this color came out perfect for that.
Here is a photo of my makeup in the morning, recently applied. I blended it with a makeup sponge and set it my Maybelline Fit Me  Matte + Poreless Powder.  It has a great medium coverage that can be build-able.

That day I went to explore Old San Juan (I am so in love with that city), and walked for around 4 hours, wish means sweat, touching my face and even crying of laughter.

After a long fun day I got home, my makeup (and hair) was a mess, but my under eye makeup was intact. I was so impressed!

I’ve been using it every day since and I don’t have any complains, it’s weightless, you don’t feel it on your skin and it doesn’t crease.

Final thought, I can’t believe I waited so long to try this amazing concealer, I will never forgive my self, it’s that good!

January Makeup Wishlist (Study Motivation)

New semester means a new makeup wishlist to keep my self motivated! You can see last semesters list here.  I use this list as a motivation to do my best in my classes, if I am happy with my grades and progress, I will buy myself something from this list.  I don’t want to cheat, and so that’s why I posted it here on the blog, plus I tell my mom and best friend,  that way they don’t let me buy something if I haven’t earned it.

Here is my Makeup Wishlist:

Anastasia Beverly Hills Glow Kit in Beam

I am obsessed with highlighters and these look so pretty, specially “Crushed Pearl” and “Mimosa”.  Can’t wait to have this palette in my hands and play with it.  Now with spring and summer around the corner, I am sure highlighters will still be one of my go to products.

MAC Viva Glam by Ariana Grande

How gorgeous are this MAC lipstick and lipgloss by Ariana Grande? If I had to choose just one I’ll choose the lisptick, it’s a pretty dark plum color, it would look perfect with a simple/ natural.  But the lipgloss is also so pretty, a light shimmery pink, I can see myself using it everyday for the office.

Kat Von D Shade + Light Contour Palette

This palette has been in my makeup wishlist for quite sometime, I just think that having a variety of shades will work great in giving more dimension to the face.  I have heard great things about it, I am sure it will be worth it.

Urban Decay Gwen Stefani Blush Palette

A girl can never have to many blushes, right? How pretty does this blush palette looks? I haven’t see it, but it has great reviews on the Sephora site. The color selection is great, no matter what look you are going for their is shade that could work for it.  I love palettes like this.
So there it is.  Now it’s time to rock this semester so that I have an excuse to buy myself some makeup.
Never stop dreaming, eve if its about makeup products!

My week: Future Psychologist and Amelia’s First Birthday

Last week was a roller coaster of emotions and I want to share it with you.

To start the story from the begging, this semester I was taking 3 classes that were requirements for a Masters Degree in Psychological Counseling.  I applied to start my Masters now in January, but in mid December I received a letter that said I didn’t meet the requirements to be accepted to the program. I was devastated, and the worst part was that they will be on a vacation break starting the next day after I received the letter.  I spent my Holidays worrying about it and been very defensive every time someone asked about it, I didn’t want to tell everyone about the letter, so I avoided taking about the issue, I had faith that it will work out, but still, I was freaking out silently.
Fast forward to last week, the University vacation break ended on Monday 11, and that same day I went to see what I could do about the situation. I went to the Department and it turned out that the problem was that the results of the EXADEP (exam required for grad school) was late, and at the time of the letter didn’t have the results. The secretary was awesome with me, she went and talk to the Dean, and she accepted to interview me, and that was the moment that I felt that I was going to passed out.  I had to do a one page essay and then the interview with the Dean, I was not mentally prepared for all of that. I was so nervous, but I tried to keep my mind positive, assuring  my self that I was capable of doing does things and thinking that if that didn’t turnout  as I wanted, there will be a great reason behind it all. But after all the stress and nervousness, I was accepted to the program that same day! Oh, what a happy moment!
Moral of the story, fight for what you want and try to always have a positive mind set.
My big smile after I was told I was accepted.

Another great moment this week was Amelia Marina’s first birthday! (You can read more about Amelia here.) I can’t believe it’s been a year already, but what a year. She’s been such a blessing in our lives.  She is such a happy baby it’s impossible not to lover her. She had so much fun in her birthday party, it was great watching her having a great time and being so happy.  I love you Hermosurita de Titi! Hoping there will be lots of happy birthdays to celebrate together.

Never stop dreaming and enjoying life.

My 2015 Favorites

2015 was great (you can read about my year here), and of course there are some products that made my year even better.  Today I want to share with you my favorite products from 2015, that I am sure I will keep loving in 2016.

1. Becca by Jaclyn Hill Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed in Champagne Pop

I bought this highlight in October and I am still obsessed with it.  The color is a “soft white with pinky peach undertones”, it’s like rose gold (and I love everything rose gold).  This has become my all time favorite highlighter, because it doesn’t have chunks of glitter, and it gives a really pretty glow, that is build-able, and you can use any time of the day.  I would say I use this product 4 out of the 7 days of the week (it may be more) in the high points of my face and it still looks like new, for me it was worth the splurge. Becca Cosmetics, please make this product permanent, I can’t imagine my life without it, it’s that good.

2. Lancome Blush Subtil Palette in 323 Rose Flush

2015 was the year I fell in love with highlighter, and before “Champagne Pop”this was my go to blush palette, simply because of the highlight shade.  It’s a pearly shade with pink undertones, it’s not to dramatic, perfect for a natural look.  This shade it’s not so noticeable, so if you prefer something more dramatic, this one it’s not for you. But the color is really pretty, and if you are into more subtle highlights, you should really try this one.  Plus I really like this bronzer for some natural looking contour.

3. Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless Foundation in 228

This year I had a love/hate relationship with this foundation.  The first one I bought was darker than me, but I made it work.  When I was finishing the first bottle was that I discover the best way to apply it, that is with a sponge. Then I bought another foundation from another brand (2 to be exact, ’cause the first shade was way to dark for me), that made my pores so noticeable, it was really frustrating, specially because I know of people that love it and it looks great on them.  So after that I went back to Maybelline’s Fit Me. The only thing is, that it is marketed as matte, and at least in my skin it doesn’t have a matte finish, but is not oily either.  I do like it a lot, but I am excited to try their new Dream Velvet Soft-Matte Hydrating Foundation, but it hasn’t come to stores in Puerto Rico yet.

4. Tarte Maracuja Oil

I received a sample of this oil in a Ipsy Bag, but didn’t try it until I ran out of my night moisturizer, and after the first use it was love at first application. That first morning my skin was so soft, and I even belief it has made my pores appear smaller.  It says it is “a treatment oil that targets individual skin concerns and delivers balanced moisture for firmer, brighter, and smoother-looking skin” and I do belief it has done wonders to my skin.  Before I ran out of the sample, I went to Sephora to buy it ’cause I didn’t want to spend a night without applying it to my face.  The best part about this oil is that a little goes a long way.

5. It Cosmetics Brow Power Universal Eyebrow Pencil

There is no doubt why this product is one of their best sellers.  I have use different products for the brows, but none like this one.  I usually don’t trust universal colors, but I think this one is the perfect shade for me.  I like the consistency, it’s very pigmented and easy to apply.  It’s also really blendable, if you go heavy handed in the application you can easily blend it with the spooley.  This product doesn’t fade or move, once it’s applied and it sets it doesn’t go anywhere and it lasts all day.

I am excited to discover new products and find new favorites in this new year.

I would love to know which products were your favorites last year, tell me in the comments section.

A Look Back at My Awesome 2015

2015 was great for me, a year of changes and a lot of good things.  I started the year with the mind set that I was going to enjoy it and make the most out of it, and that was exactly what I did.  I decided to let go of negativity and work on things that made me happy.  I went from being kind of shy to being more outgoing and less afraid of doing what I really want (and I’m still working with that).  My attitude towards life, my goals and my future changed drastically and for good, I couldn’t be more happy.
So today I am sharing with you some of the highlights of my year.

Amelia

Amelia is my best friends baby and she was born in the beginning of January, best way to start the year.  She is the most beautiful and lovable baby.  I am so grateful to be part of her life.  I love you, Hermosurita de Titi!

My birthday

My birthday #26! I can’t believe how fast the years are passing by! I am so grateful to have spend this day with great people and yummy food (this photo collage was of just the start of the day).  Thank you to everyone who made this day so special.

Vacation Week

My vacation lasted just one short week, but a week it was!  We did something different everyday and had lots of fun. We were acting as tourist in our beautiful Puerto Rico. I fell in love with Old San Juan, what I beautiful place, filled with history and culture.  And most important, Amelia had her first beach day!

Going Back To School

I still remember that day, I was so nervous!  Going back to college after 3 years of graduating from my Bachelors Degree, was very intimidating.  But it was a great semester, with great professors and awesome classmates. Definitely, one of the best decisions I took this year!

Starting Dreaming Life in Pink

It’s been years since I have wanted to have a blog, a place to express myself, and I finally did it.  I love having my little space on the internet and sharing my interests and experiences.  I am very excited to keep working on it this new year.

Looking Forward to the New Year

If 2015 was great, I am sure 2016 will be even better. I am positive that if I work hard I will keep accomplishing my goals.  Remember, it’s your life, and you are the one that makes the choices, make them good, and always do what makes you happy. Things don’t always go as planned, just learn from the experience and keep going.
Never stop dreaming and working for those dreams, life is full of opportunities.
Happy New Year!
