My 2015 Favorites

2015 was great (you can read about my year here), and of course there are some products that made my year even better.  Today I want to share with you my favorite products from 2015, that I am sure I will keep loving in 2016.

1. Becca by Jaclyn Hill Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed in Champagne Pop

I bought this highlight in October and I am still obsessed with it.  The color is a “soft white with pinky peach undertones”, it’s like rose gold (and I love everything rose gold).  This has become my all time favorite highlighter, because it doesn’t have chunks of glitter, and it gives a really pretty glow, that is build-able, and you can use any time of the day.  I would say I use this product 4 out of the 7 days of the week (it may be more) in the high points of my face and it still looks like new, for me it was worth the splurge. Becca Cosmetics, please make this product permanent, I can’t imagine my life without it, it’s that good.

2. Lancome Blush Subtil Palette in 323 Rose Flush

2015 was the year I fell in love with highlighter, and before “Champagne Pop”this was my go to blush palette, simply because of the highlight shade.  It’s a pearly shade with pink undertones, it’s not to dramatic, perfect for a natural look.  This shade it’s not so noticeable, so if you prefer something more dramatic, this one it’s not for you. But the color is really pretty, and if you are into more subtle highlights, you should really try this one.  Plus I really like this bronzer for some natural looking contour.

3. Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless Foundation in 228

This year I had a love/hate relationship with this foundation.  The first one I bought was darker than me, but I made it work.  When I was finishing the first bottle was that I discover the best way to apply it, that is with a sponge. Then I bought another foundation from another brand (2 to be exact, ’cause the first shade was way to dark for me), that made my pores so noticeable, it was really frustrating, specially because I know of people that love it and it looks great on them.  So after that I went back to Maybelline’s Fit Me. The only thing is, that it is marketed as matte, and at least in my skin it doesn’t have a matte finish, but is not oily either.  I do like it a lot, but I am excited to try their new Dream Velvet Soft-Matte Hydrating Foundation, but it hasn’t come to stores in Puerto Rico yet.

4. Tarte Maracuja Oil

I received a sample of this oil in a Ipsy Bag, but didn’t try it until I ran out of my night moisturizer, and after the first use it was love at first application. That first morning my skin was so soft, and I even belief it has made my pores appear smaller.  It says it is “a treatment oil that targets individual skin concerns and delivers balanced moisture for firmer, brighter, and smoother-looking skin” and I do belief it has done wonders to my skin.  Before I ran out of the sample, I went to Sephora to buy it ’cause I didn’t want to spend a night without applying it to my face.  The best part about this oil is that a little goes a long way.

5. It Cosmetics Brow Power Universal Eyebrow Pencil

There is no doubt why this product is one of their best sellers.  I have use different products for the brows, but none like this one.  I usually don’t trust universal colors, but I think this one is the perfect shade for me.  I like the consistency, it’s very pigmented and easy to apply.  It’s also really blendable, if you go heavy handed in the application you can easily blend it with the spooley.  This product doesn’t fade or move, once it’s applied and it sets it doesn’t go anywhere and it lasts all day.

I am excited to discover new products and find new favorites in this new year.

I would love to know which products were your favorites last year, tell me in the comments section.
